Most brands are looking to find a mix of innovative in-store experiences and their core values, leading to a key driving factor of sustainable practices. From recycled materials to brand new practices, the mannequin industry is transforming to bring even more positive change.
As London is a hub for sustainability in retail, the highest standard of mannequins will also be included. Brands will often launch pop-ups, host flagships, and focus a lot of time to make sure these stores are done just right. Having impactful aspects that also show a sustainability element is a great way to get shoppers to get inspired.
EuroShop is not only another hub of innovation, but a stage to share them to with retail world. As the show is only every 3 years – it works as a first stop destination to see what the future in retail will look like. Innovation in mannequins will start here.
Why Sustainability Matters in the Mannequin Industry
Typically, mannequins are made of fibreglass and plastic. This is because these materials are strong and sturdy – holding up in busy footfall areas like a store. This unfortunately leads to a build-up of plastic that isn’t recycled. This non sustainable solution doesn’t fit in with many brands growing interest in eco-friendly solutions, so alternative materials that can still withstand the hustle and bustle of the shop floor.
Sustainability can also be more accessible than it seems! Refurbishing existing products and mannequins can save having to buy a new one. Any way to extend the life of a product is a way to contribute towards a more sustainable future.
It’s clear there is still a huge desire to improve sustainability in retail. Deloitte reported 73% of Consumer Industry CXOs have increased investments in sustainability over 2023.
